Our client is a well-known global software company based in West Dublin. They are on the market for a Performance Test Engineer for their award-winning software.
You will be joining a highly experienced and supportive QA team, responsible for creating and organizing load, stress and capacity tests to mimic Production load to interpret test results as part of our client’s development team. Our client works with some of the biggest organizations in the world.
Designing, developing and executing performance tests.
Specifying application performance requirements and measuring the performance of new and existing Product features against those requirements for all major Product releases.
Analysing performance results to identify bottlenecks and optimisations.
Creating and publishing performance/capacity test results reports.
Adding new test plans, test scripts and test data for single user response timing testing, load testing and stress testing.
Assisting and supporting the Development and QA teams, to help design and execute specific performance test cases for new product features.
Providing recommendations based on test findings to Development and QA teams.
Adding new test plans and test scripts to support capacity planning of our Production environment.
Replicating test loads experienced on Production.
Working with Development teams to design and run new Feature performance tests.
Constructing complex workloads and data shapes to expose potential bottlenecks.
Managing performance testing environments.
3+ years' experience, specifically as a Performance Test Engineer.
Experience in capacity planning, systems performance analysis and optimization in a distributed client/server environment.
Strong Experience with HTTP load generation software using JMeter, Load Runner, etc.
Experience with performance monitoring tools such as New Relic, Cacti, Splunk, TcpDump, Fiddler, Wireshark etc.
Excellent ability to partner with Architects, Developers, Systems Engineers and Database Administrators to collaboratively tune systems.
Excellent skills in summarizing a large number of metrics into meaningful graphs and reports.
Understanding of throughput, latency, memory and CPU utilization.
Experience with Unix based systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Team city etc.
