This is a broad title usually attributed to someone working within the Construction, Pharmaceutical or Engineering sector. It is a field based position which requires a high level of technical knowledge on the product range being sold and often requires a 3rd level qualification to back this up ie; if selling engineering products being a qualified engineer is generally sought after. This is because of the users you are selling to who are very technical themselves and will challenge any person trying to sell to them. Quite often the sales cycles can be long depending on the value and complexity of the solution sold. Salary packages usually offer a 80/20 split between basic and commission, include either a car or a car allowance, company phone and laptop and expenses to cover travel cost
