A Site Engineer usually works for a main contractor or a civil engineering subcontractor and reports to the site or project manager for a construction project. Site engineers are generally responsible for setting out of the site – i.e. marking the points that will be used to construct a building or civils works. They use equipment such as a theodolite and laser levels to complete the setting out. Site Engineers also liaise with subcontractors on site and are often responsible for quality control and checking of documentation and materials to be used in a project. They may hold a degree in construction management or civil engineering or similar discipline.
Tipperary, in Ireland’s province of Munster, is a landlocked rural county that’s home to mountains, rivers, lakes and farmland. The medieval and Celtic collection of ruins at the Rock of Cashel have sweeping pastoral views.
