Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Another common title and role in technology companies this person is the first person that most businesses deal with. The key function of this role is to introduce the company, their product or services and key features to new clients. They establish whether there is a need for the solution, a capacity to purchase and a desire to purchase and then share this information with an Account Executive (AE) or Inside Sales Representative (ISR). They identify leads and pass them on to more senior people and thus for most individuals they are the first type of sales role they do before progressing up the ranks.
