Relationship Manager
Relationship Managers in the lending or credit sector are an important part of the banking industry. These Relationship Managers manages the relationship between the customers and the bank Experience from Commercial or Retail banking would be required. There are a large array of loans such as Residential or Buy to Let Mortgages, Commercial Property, Cash flow lending, Overdraft facilities, to name but a few. Typically when hiring, the banks would look for a Relationship Manager with a professional qualification such as QFAs’ or at a minimum APA in Loans along with a relevant Bachelor’s Degree. There is a very strong focus on Customer Services and Relationship Management. As this is a credit related role proven experience of the credit process would be needed such as, financial analysis, report writing, presentation to committees/underwriters for recommendation of facility. Some of these roles would also require previous experience in dealing with distressed borrowers, restructuring existing loans or recoveries.
