Project Manager

A Project Manager can be employed with an insurer in either a permanent full-time basis or, more commonly, on a short or fixed term contract basis. Hiring a Project Manager provides an insurance company with someone who has the experience and knowledge of implementing strategic plans within specific timeframes.

A Project Manager, who may hold the relevant Prince 2 or PMI qualifications, will have strong leadership and organisational skills. They will usually be senior professionals within the sector, who have a track record in leading and implementing large scale projects, for example setting up a new customer service centre or implementing a new IT system.

A Project Manager may find permanent opportunities with larger organisations where business development strategies and process improvements are the key focus of the role.

Project Manager salaries can vary from €60,000 for direct employees to daily rates exceeding €1,000 per day. A good Project Manager will find they can move between industry and opportunities with consultancy firms present regular contract work.
