Legal Executives and Paralegals come in many forms and depends on the job required of them in the Company or Firm. For example, a Law Firm may want their Legal Executives to administer contracts, or play a quasi-Legal Secretary role and other Legal Executives or Paralegals will run a caseload of Property files and have them signed off by a Solicitor at the end of the transaction as they typically cannot undertake for the work that they carry out.

Recently, with GDPR, Legal Executives have been used on a contract basis to help with Data Protection in Legal teams. They go into a company and take the legal counsel or solicitors instruction on what they need them to assist with from a Data Protection viewpoint such as dealing with Freedom of Information Requests or tidying up contracts to ensure that the relevant Data Protection clauses are included.
