Construction Planner

Planner roles involve the preparation of pre-tender, tender and post-tender submission documentation such as critical path programmes, project plans, and labour histograms. Planners also assist the site management team with the production of contract programmes and project schedules, along with regular project progress reports and analysis; planners are also involved in preparing site target and look-ahead programmes, as well as reviewing and advising on subcontractor programmes and their incorporation into the overall construction programme.

Planners generally work for larger Building Contractors, hold professional qualifications in construction or engineering disciplines and are highly proficient in software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Asta Powerproject. The job involves a high degree of collaboration with site managers, quantity surveyors, engineers and site workers.
