Building Services Engineer

Building services engineers are specialists in the design and construction of mechanical and electrical services for construction projects. Mechanical building services engineers work on the design and installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) for a range of buildings and may work for either a building services consultancy or mechanical contractor. Electrical services engineers are responsible for lighting, electrical distribution and the other electrical aspects of the building. Building services engineers are generally in high demand in Ireland due to a high prevalence of commercial and industrial refurbishment projects which require internal services to be redesigned and reinstalled.
