A common title in the technology industry this role is responsible for the direct sales of products or services. They manage the full sales cycle, usually from an initial point of contact through to the closing of the deal and sign off from the client. They then hand responsibility over to an account manager. They are often described as "Hunters" and people who succeed in these roles are motivated by closing deals and generating commission. Can also be called Inside Sales Representatives or Business Development Representatives. Salaries vary hugely depending on the organisation but typically offer a basic salary and commission split of 50/50.
