Security and Networking Specialist / LAN / WAN / Cisco, Dublin City Centre

required for  the power systems operator located in Dublin City Centre.

Role

  • Ensure the stable operation of in-house routers, switches, firewalls, and security applications
  • Planning, configuring, maintaining and supporting all network hardware and security products
  • Making scheduled changes to firewalls 
  • Providing technical and planning input to all new applications and alterations
  • Active monitoring of network devices and links and network capacity planning
  • Troubleshooting network performance and connectivity issues

 

Candidate
 
• In depth knowledge of LAN and WAN networking using Cisco routers and multilayer switches, with at least 3 years working in a senior network role
• Cisco CCNA qualification
• Good working knowledge in the support and configuration of Checkpoint and PIX firewalls

• Experience of working in an environment with complex and high levels of security
• Have demonstrated flexibility

Desirable:

• Experience of working in a high-availability environment
• Experience in network capacity planning, management and monitoring.
• Practical working knowledge of Symantec products and Bluecoat
