Our client a mechanical services engineering company who supply mechanical solutions to a wide client base are seeking an R&D Project Leader to join its team for a 12 month contract role initally,

As a result of the continued success and expansion of the company, it wishes to carry out comprehensive research and development into a number of potential innovative engineering solutions within the construction industry. This research by its nature is at the conceptual stage and requires a dedicated focused approach to specific project design and engineering. It is likely that the project will take at least 12 months in the planning and design and thereafter into manufacture based on the success of the research

.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Third Level degree in Mechanical Engineering;
    • 5 - 8 years engineering experience in a metal processing environment, e.g. Machine Shop procedures, forming tools, injection moulding tools, metal forming and treatments etc.
    • Proficiency in dealing with product design challenges such as proof of concept, manufacturing techniques and procedures, process improvements, quality standards
    • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills;

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience in commercial proposal development and project costing;
    • Experience in product or process development including experimental designs and implementation through conducting bench or pilot plant studies.
    • Competence & working knowledge of fabrication techniques such as metal forming, cutting, joining, bonding and finishing methods
    • Project management capability and a strong personal commitment to creating truly innovative work.
