A leading Financial Services company seeks an experienced VB6 Developer to design, develop and install applications required by the business.

The successful candidate will possess excellent VB6 development experience and have performed development work on Oracle (or similar RDBMS such as SQL).

JOB PURPOSE

To develop, enhance and maintain IS solutions to meet the requirements of the business.

 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, development, testing, installation and support of required applications
• Work with project teams to meet pre-determined deadlines
• Design, write and test structured programs to standards
• Liase with business analysts and end-users

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• Extensive knowledge and experience of VB6
• Extensive knowledge of PLSQL

DESIREABLE SKILLS

• Knowledge of Life Assurance Systems (PAXUS or  CLOAS or LIFE400)
• Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industry
• Delphi, Access experience
• 3rd level qualification in a related discipline

PERSONAL SKILLS

• Individual should be self motivated with an ability to work in teams
• Good communication skills
• Ability to meet tight deadlines
• Enthusiasm and Willingness to learn new disciplines
